After the initial set-up and registration fees, and depending on the term selected, you will be billed by TaosNet to maintain your domain name registration. You will be responsible for creating, publicizing and maintaining your site and all subsites within your domain. You may resell disk space within your domain and create a unique site in any way you choose. TaosNet will bill you based on the number of email accounts within your domain, the amount of disk space used and number of MB transferred each month, cgi-bin usage and any other of our web hosting services.

A Virtual Domain Account also allows you to resell websites to your clients. We call these subsites. In addition to a monthly fee of $5 per e-mail address, a $5 set-up fee will be charged for each subsite. Additional Business Directory listings are available for subsites for $5 per month per subsite listing.

The co-location option provides for the space and electricity to locate your equipment on our 10BaseT network. This includes a T1 connection to the Internet, and one IP address.

The service allows for access to your equipment during normal business hours. Emergency access or any other system administration or monitoring of your equipment is subject to our prevailing consulting rates of $75 per hour.

There is no additional charge for rack mounts under 2" high. However, if space is required outside of our rack-mount system, a $50 monthly fee will apply. Non-rack-mount equipment shall not exceed 16" high.

Glossary

cgi-bin/PHP
Programs that run on the web server to provide special features to a web site such as an email response form or an interactive SQL database. Each transaction generates a "hit" which is totaled in the monthly consumption report.

Co-location
A service that allows customers to install their own internet server computers in the facilities of an ISP.

Disk Storage
The measurement of how much total hard drive space a web site takes up on the web server's hard drive.

DNS Service
Servers that locate domains on the internet. DNS translates plain English domain names into binary computer numbers.

Domain Registrar
A company authorized to establish internet domain names and update the root DNS servers.

MajorDomo
An interactive mailing list service for group email communications and discussion forums.

Megabytes Transfered
When people browse a web site, the text and graphic files that make up the site must be transfered to them across the internet. This is the primary measurement of consumption in web site hosting.

MySQL
MySQL is a powerful database. MySQL enables a web site to present dynamic, selective content.

Search Engine Registration
The process of actively promoting domains and web addresses with search engines and web directories.
